How
Attorneys Benefit
We help you, the
Attorney, to produce powerful case exhibits in the form
of spreadsheets and graphs. We give you professional
help to know that all of the financial “bases” have
been covered. We provide personal financial analysis
for your client. We help your clients to understand
the financial “reality” of the situation and help your
clients to work towards a viable settlement.
We’ll help you to
understand the financial issues associated with:
- Separate vs.
community property
- Valuing and dividing
property
- Retirement and
pensions
- Spousal maintenance
and child support
- Splitting the
house
- Tax problems
and solutions
You will benefit from easier case preparation and settlement
as we do the financial work for you. We are more than
happy to organize a trial notebook on your behalf. You
will have reduced liability by having in-depth financial
research to support your case and you'll have reliable
expert witness testimony if your case goes to court.
With Boda Financial
Group, Inc. you have the flexibility to refer your clients
to us or hire us directly on behalf of your clients.
You determine how much or how little you want to be
involved in the financial process. Working relationships
and the legal process are respected. All informational
needs from the opposing party and their counsel are
directed through you. We do not give legal advice and
always direct our clients to seek an Attorney if they
have not already retained one.
We embrace Collaborative
Practice as an effective approach to alternative dispute
resolution. As such, we are currently focusing our continuing
education and training on Collaborative Practice so
as to be the most effective neutral financial professionals
as possible in this arena.
Jerry
Boda, CDFA will assist attorneys with the drafting of
QDROs under the direction of said attorneys. This service
is only offered to attorneys who contract the CDFA as
a paraprofessional and who delegate this function accordingly.
In this relationship, the attorney supervises the delegated
work, retains responsibility for the work product and
maintains a direct relationship with the client. This
service is not offered directly to the client by the
CDFA as it would represent the "Unauthorized Practice
of Law" (Rule 5.05 - Texas State Bar Rules of Professional
Conduct). Boda Financial Group, Inc. does not provide
legal advice nor does it provide legal services to its
clients.
Jerry Boda has received
advanced training in Qualified Domestic Relations
Order (QDRO) drafting from Robert Treat, JD.
Mr. Treat is a QDRO Consultant for QDRO Express, specializing
in research & preparation of domestic relations
orders & pension valuations. Mr. Treat's extensive
knowledge in the QDRO arena has lead him to writing
a monthly article in the Michigan Family Law Journal,
QDRO Corner, being a presenter of QDRO seminars for
professionals across the country and preparing hundreds
of QDROs per year. Among these, he was also a contributor
to the Institute of Continuing Legal Education publication,
QDROs, EDROs & Division of Employee Benefits on
Divorce, 2004 Edition and is a member of the Michigan
Bar, Family Law Section QDRO Committee.
